Documents
Documents is the project's document library, where you upload, organize and preview files. It accepts PDF, DOCX or DOC, XLSX, XLS and CSV spreadsheets, PNG or JPG images and plain text, shows files as a grid or a list, and keeps every file you upload until you delete it.
What does the Documents view show?
Documents view shows every file in the active project's library. Default grid view (thumbnails) or list view (table with size / type / upload date). Click a document to select it, double-click to open it in the full in-browser viewer, or right-click for quick actions.
Every control
Upload areaDrag-and-drop or click to browse. Multiple files supported. Max 50 MB per file.
Folder navFolders are created manually (+ New Folder). A separate, automatic Categories section bins root files by filename pattern into a construction taxonomy (Drawings, Specifications, RFQs & quotes, POs & contracts, Submittals, RFIs, COIs & insurance, Daily reports, Photos, Pay apps) — it doesn't move the file into a folder.
SearchFilename, plus the text of any PDF indexed into Project Pulse — the one path that OCRs a scan.
PreviewRight-click → Preview opens a quick panel with a file-type icon and metadata (name, type, size, modified) — it does not render the file's actual content. To view PDF/spreadsheet content in-browser, double-click the file (or right-click → Open).
Chat with this documentOpens Doc Chat focused on this document.
DownloadOriginal file download.
Delete documentRight-click → Delete. Permanently removes the file from storage — this cannot be undone.
Which file formats can I upload?
You can upload PDF, DOCX or DOC, XLSX, XLS or CSV, PNG or JPG, and plain text files.
- PDF (text layer; a scanned PDF is OCR'd only once indexed into Project Pulse)
- DOCX / DOC (Microsoft Word)
- XLSX / XLS / CSV (Excel + spreadsheet)
- PNG / JPG (stored and previewed, not read — there is no OCR for images, so text inside one is not searchable)
- Plain text
How long are my documents kept?
Documents uploaded here persist until deleted. Documents attached directly to an engine run (without first uploading to Documents) are not persisted — only the structured output is saved. See Data storage.
